Baskets and Gifts for Babies and Pregnant Women

Gift baskets and gifts for babies and pregnant women

When someone announces they’re going to be a mother or has just had a baby, the hard part isn’t finding a gift: the hard part is finding one that will be used and not end up in the drawer of repeated gifts. Here I select the ones that mothers who visit Picasita really use.

A personalized baby gift basket is a curated set of children’s products (bib, tableware, blanket, muslin, teether) presented in a basket or box ready for gifting, where each piece is engraved with the baby’s name. It’s one of the birth gifts with the longest real useful life (3-4 years).

What mothers who come here are looking for and don’t find elsewhere

There are three types of birth gifts. The first is the pretty one: plush toy, photo frame, album. It’s used for Instagram and then goes to the drawer. The second is the useful but unpersonalized one: diapers, bottles, generic products. They work but you can find them in any supermarket. The third is the useful personalized one: bib with the baby’s name, engraved tableware, gift basket with personal knot. That’s the one the family remembers.

We focus on the third axis: children’s gifts used daily for 3-4 years that carry the baby’s name from day one. Tableware under EN14372 for complementary feeding, silicone or muslin bibs, organic cotton blankets, sets with muslin + pacifier clip + teether.

If you are giving a baby shower gift, keep in mind that the baby doesn’t have a name yet: order the gift basket once you know the exact name (usually decided during pregnancy) and indicate the expected due date in the comment. We produce to arrive a few days after birth. The engraving is permanent, so it’s best to confirm the name before ordering.

Curated selection by baby age

Four formats covering from pregnancy to 18 months, organized by time of use:

What sets a Picasita gift basket apart

Certified materials

Food-grade silicone with CE1935 marking, tableware under EN14372, cups under EN14350, teethers under EN71, GOTS cotton, FSC wood. Standards are met, not vaguely mentioned.

Permanent laser personalization

The baby's name is engraved, not printed. It withstands the dishwasher and baby bites without losing definition.

We do not have stock with pre-printed names. Each gift basket is produced and personalized after your order.

Ready-to-gift presentation

Wrapped without invoice, with a signable card. If you want to add a message, we include it handwritten.

Frequently asked questions

Until when can a personalized gift basket be given?

Ideally during the first 6 months after birth. Tableware and bibs start being used from 6 months (complementary feeding); blankets and muslins from day one. A well-prepared gift basket covers all these milestones at once.

What if the parents haven’t decided on the name yet?

We produce with the name confirmed after birth. If you reserve in advance for a baby shower, we set a production date for 7-10 days after the expected birth and ship as soon as you confirm the exact name.

Can you add extra pieces to the standard gift basket?

Yes. The base gift basket can be expanded with any product from the baby catalog: extra teether, cup, additional muslin set, comb. We send you a photo of the arrangement before wrapping for your approval.

Do you make gift baskets for twins?

Yes, it’s one of the formats most requested by grandparents. Double personalization (both names) with a 15% discount on the total. We advise you on pieces worth duplicating (tableware) vs pieces that are shared (large blanket).

What do I do if the gift is for a coworker and I don’t know the baby’s name until the last day?

It’s best to wait to confirm the name before ordering the gift basket. The engraving is permanent and cannot be changed afterward, so it’s important to be sure. Once you know it, production and shipping take 5-7 days to arrive while the mom is still on maternity leave with the baby.

Are the pieces suitable from day one or are there minimum ages?

Blankets, muslins, and combs are suitable from birth. Tableware and bibs are designed for the start of complementary feeding (6 months). Teethers are appropriate around months 3-4 when drooling begins.
