A mid-morning snack is not the same as the lunch of a child who doesn't stay for school dinners. For fruit or a few biscuits, a small box is enough; the pack of two, 200 and 350 ml, stores one inside the other. For a full meal, the medium 860 ml or the three-compartment one, which keeps the main dish apart from the side.
When a child comes back with their lunch untouched, sometimes it's because they couldn't open the box. That's why it's worth looking at the closure first and trying it at home with them before the first day. Silicone boxes survive drops, go in the dishwasher and the freezer, and in the microwave with the lid open or removed.
A sandwich needs something else: a fabric bag, which hangs from the peg and has room for a piece of fruit too. With their name nice and big, the snack comes home in their bag and not someone else's.
